I have to agree with previous review, so overwhelming with spice in smell and taste that it’s just not good. Did find it enjoyable used in a Spicy Gold Rush cocktail, use some hot honey, fresh lemon juice and this spiced so-called bourbon and it’s not bad at all. Would NOT buy again though…sorry.

Little alcohol on the front, not much depth or complexity....at 90 proof drinks easily.

A solid addition to the Elijah Craig lineup. Initial tasting came off with a mouthful of heat and alcohol like taste....after letting it “sit and breathe” (15-20 min) found it to be more palatable and quite enjoyable. Several tastings later and I’m liking it more and more.....is it as good as Michter’s Toasted....NO! But from the sounds of it it will be more readily available each year and that “sits” just fine with me.

Excellent for a 4 yr rye, looking forward to making a few “Old Fashioned” with it. Get a little spice and heat on the front of palate and dissipates to a nice warm mouthful.

Lot less proof than previous years of Bday bourbon, but still extremely stellar as always. In usual fashion extremely hard to find and buy, with this years yield at a little over 14,000 bottles. Have had the good fortune to taste a few times this past month and find it rich, silky and a wonderful nose and mouthful. UPDATE on Oct. 1......On a side note, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me! My unbelievable awesome brother went thru some extreme measures and countless contacts and friends and scored a bottle for me! Soooo Awesome!
