Tastes

The nose has an alcohol bite along with some fig & spice. The heat carries over onto the tongue along with the dried fruit, vanilla, hot cinnamon, clove & a leathery dryness on the finish. A pretty fine bourbon but I have to say I prefer the original small batch variety Beam dropped a couple years ago. #DAD

Since my bottle of this is long gone this is a memory review. This was one of the most, if not THE most, delicious & satisfying bourbons I’ve ever had. It bowled me over at the time & I’ve been chasing something equally as good ever since. I recall it being rich, lush, moderately sweet & spicy. So well-balanced & so wonderfully good. #DAD

Alcohol heat & hot cinnamon on the nose. Pie spices, vanilla & honey on the tongue. Subtle peach & apple. Really rich & lush flavors exploding in a lovely mouthfeel. Sweet & spicy long linger. #DAD

Alcohol & spicy nose. Both creamy & spicy on the tongue with a moderately lush mouthfeel. Cinnamon & clove, toffee, stone fruit, dates & tobacco/leather. Nice long & warm finish where the spice lingers. #DAD

Warm vanilla & pie spices, especially cinnamon. A hint of dark chocolate & citrus. A bit of honey & caramel richness. Nice mouthfeel. Subtle, lingering alcohol burn. I think this bourbon punches well above its weight. Our “house” bourbon for over 20 years. #DAD

A lot of initial heat that mellows to a lingering vanilla & hot cinnamon finish. I get a touch of ginger & orange peel. A touch of water improves & mellows out the flavors. #DAD
