When compared to the 12 y o this is almost Highland in character. Good nose. Not much variation between body and finish.

A classic Speyside malt that is widely available, sometimes quite cheaply. Always a good standby if you want to put a Speyside in your cabinet.

This vatted malt is consistently a contender for being my favourite blended whisky. Very much a typical Speyside character and taste, there are plenty of single malts that are put into the shade by this, and at a much lower price point too.

Ferocious taste for a Spey. You'll taste burnt leaves for hours. Distinctive, but a bit one-dimensional, perhaps.

A decent example of a lowland whisky, but the 10 year old provides better value.

Good clean tasting fun. Triple distilled nature shows through. Similar character to standard Jameson, only more accentuated.

A typical Irish whiskey. Good value for money. Plenty of punch, fairly simple finish.

Compared to the regular Jameson, this has less intensity but a longer finish.
