From the first sip to the last drop in your glass, the taste of honey is prevalent. Unlike its nose, which smells like alcohol / ethanol more than anything. The syrupy taste is quite pleasant, a bit flowery, woody and spicy but nothing too extravagant but that feeling of drinking ethanol and the little stings in your nose clearly refrain this rum from deploy all its flavours and it is a bit of a shame. This Diplomático flagship could have been better while still highly enjoyable.52.0 CHF per Bottle

Nose is quite sweet, spicy and has a definite smell of sugar cane. There's a bit of wood, like old bookshelves. Palate is surprisingly dry and less sugary than expected but full of flavours with a strong attack. I'm not an expert, but I'll say the taste reminds me of leather and grass fields. It is a bit spicy, like a chilli. Aftertaste is full of raw sugar cane, that slowly develops its charm and the duration is exceptional! All in all, an excellent rum for those who might prefer whiskeys to sweet regular grocery-store bought Diplomatico or Zacapa.129.0 CHF per Bottle

This rum is like candy : very sweet, round and alcohol. It taste of old wood a little bit, but the sweetness is really overpowering in this one. There's a herbal hint at first, but the caramel taste takes it all in the end, with a tad of ethanol. Might be suited to romantic evenings or events like new years' eve but not so tasteful.85.0 CHF per Bottle

Very sweet yet a bit acidic when first sipped : the strong flavours of orange and citrus is a bit overpowering at first, as the vanilla. Then, it slips away leaving just a bit of sugar cane. Feels a bit like unnatural, as if the taste were added. Feels great with tea on the side, for a warm winter family night.55.0 CHF per Bottle
