Evan Williams Black Label
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 28, 2022 (edited January 17, 2024)3.1 out of 5. (Especially for the Price) A much better Distillate than I remember from 7 or 8 years ago. It’s still SO Nutty! Think a Caramel Candy Red Apple smothered in Peanut Butter, Salted Circus Peanuts, Pecans, and Almonds/Walnuts that were DRENCHED and Dried in a Honeycomb Concentrate. There’s some Light Oak Char Smoke and Roasted Rye Spice Dancing on your Palate/Taste Buds on the backend of the Finish. The Brown Sugar and Molasses is Semi-Flat and Faint. For the overall value and price tag. You can’t beat it! It’s a versatile Dram-Pour for beginners, that can even be used in Craft Cocktails or a Classic Coke. This was the first Whiskey I began my Bourbon journey and adventure with years ago. I started with this nutty-buddy-bad boy! It still hold up to this day. It’s kinda one dimensional and a tad bit boring; BUT it is still the best option under 15 Dollars.14.99 USD per Bottle -
Benchmark Top Floor Bourbon (86 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 27, 2022 (edited January 17, 2024)2.3 out of 5. My least favorite Dram Pour out of the Bunch. It’s the weakest offering on the Budget-Benchmark Bourbon lineup. (Caramel Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, Cherry Cough Drops, Apple Pie Crust, and some light Anise/Floral notes hiding in the back.) This Kind of reminds me of a softer Evan Williams 1783 new release. Nothing special or spectacular. It’s a tad bit boring for my palate and taste buds, but for the overall value and price to proof point. It’s a solid sipper or cocktail mixer.16.0 USD per Bottle -
One of the Best After Dinner Dessert Drams I’ve ever Tasted! First Pour is Pure Chocolate Fudge, Orange Marmalade, Plums/Raisins, and a Vanilla Custard/Crème Brûlée Tiramisu.. The Tiramisu Pastry is on the Verge of Raw Coffee Bean Grinds before the Mocha Espresso Shot is Brewed. Behind the Barrel Tannins/Tobacco Smoke and Cinnamon Spices there’s some Dark Stone Fruits lingering in the back, but very muddled and faint. It’s still a Delicious Dram! Definitely worth the Steep Price Tag on Rare Occasions Only.255.0 USD per Bottle

Benchmark Full Proof Bourbon (125 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 3, 2022 (edited November 8, 2022)2.5 out of 5 on the first crack. With some oxidation; a 3.1 out of 5. It gets better with time. I compared a bottle opened 4 weeks ago, to a fresh crack last night. A night and day difference! This Bourbon isn’t Stagg Jr./George T.. but it isn’t a Slouch! It needs to be tamed down a tad bit with a little bit of air or water. There are some vintage (BTAC) vibes faintly hiding deep in the back of the dram. There’s something special about this mash bill #1 pour, especially for the overall value. It has some harsh rough edges because of it’s youthful age, but you wont find a Cask Strength Whiskey at this proof to price point. Needs more time in the Barrel!25.0 USD per Bottle -
Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 9, 2022 (edited June 3, 2022)Hidden Gem of a Dram! Underrated and Under Appreciated. Way better than the Original 1783 Offering which was under Proofed at 43% ABV/86 Proof. I get Sourdough Raisin Bread and Chocolate Tootsie Rolls! There’s way more to explore here. Do not pass this up! Even if you’re a Veteran, or a Rookie Bourbon Drinker; this is a Must Pour for everyone who LOVES Bourbon Whiskey or Scotch Whisky. There’s something Valuable and Very Special about this Pour of Bourbon!18.0 USD per Bottle -
