Tastes

Dark amber. Carmel apples on the nose. Somewhat sweet, baking spices. Oaky tannins are strong on the finish. (Grimes Fareway pick 2020)

Sweet, floral nose. Medium mouth feel. The spice of the rye fades into a minty, followed by pepper on the finish.

Nose is slightly medicinal. Obviously blackberry, but also fresh bread, and raisins. Sweet and tart. Very thick mouth feel. Reminds me of a port more than a whiskey. Sligh heat and oak on the finish gives a hint that it’s indeed whiskey. It would be a good substitute for port as a dessert spirit in small quantities.

Orange peel on the nose. Spicy, peppery.

Very mild notes. Maybe brown sugar. Hard to find definite notes. Smooth. Oaky notes on the finish.

Eggnog nose. Oak, spices, vanilla, brown sugar. Very smooth finish.

Sweet nose. Yellow raisin. Not too much spice. Sweet, smooth finish.

Struggled with the nose. Hot and peppery. The finish is long, with more black pepper, cinnamon, and oaky tannins.

Kind of a cool nose. Smooth. Slightly spicy.

Nose reminds me of caramel nut rolls. A bit oaky, and slightly spicy.
