Knob Creek Small Batch Bourbon (NAS)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 24, 2019 (edited August 25, 2020)Nose: Marshmallow toast and boiled cinnamon lollies. Palette: Woody Toasted Oak notes with some wet pine leaves has a long finish. Thoughts: At $90 a bottle for a 9 year aged whiskey, the price is on the higher end. The 50%abv is lost in its smooth long finish. I’d buy again and take to a BBQ to share with mates who are new to bourbons, but have a whisky background. -
Balvenie Peat Week 14 Year (2003 Edition)
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 28, 2019 (edited September 22, 2019)Smooth oak wood and mossy gardens on the nose. On the palate a complex mix of dark currants and sweet peat. The peat is subtle but ‘up front’ moving quickly aside for an oily finish. -
Lagavulin 16 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 29, 2017 (edited September 22, 2019)My all time go to favourite. Smokey and smooth with a tight and lingering oil finish. On the nose it reminded me a mossy gardens and sweet roasted blueberries. Enjoy with a cube of ice to open up those oils!
