Alberta Premium Cask Strength Rye (2022 Release)
Canadian — Alberta, Canada
Reviewed August 31, 2023 -
PX Hogshead Cask. Pilsen Barley. 7 years. 60.5 If you like aggressively sweet and savory whiskeys then you have come to the right place. Nose: syrupy prune juice Palate: (water recommended) Walnuts, dates, prunes, very tannic, and a salty burnt ends BBQ flavor, maybe teriyaki... This is a beast if you drink it neat, and it's too much of a weird anomaly unless you like very bold whiskeys with the notes listed above. Interesting and unusual are its selling points...

Bladnoch 11 Year (2022 Release)
Single Malt — Lowlands , Scotland
Reviewed August 19, 2023 (edited August 29, 2023)A very underrated bottle. It has an aethereal light quality that must be the California wine finish. It also reminds me of a very good Irish whiskey (maybe the ex-bourbon cask?) Gets the nod over Craigellachie 13 and Bruichladdich Islay-Barley for now.
