First serving neat On the nose: alcoholic, strong alcohol burns the nose at first. At first I could not distinguish any notes from it, apart from the smokeness of peated barley. There is a little sour in the background, that is hard to explain, but I think it is the influence of the white wine cask finish. Palate: wild and fiery. Spicy finish that makes your mouth watering. I would not say it is because of 46%ABV, I've had 46% before and didn't have this finish. I could feel a bit of orange, but it was very faint. Finish: spicy and long. No special feelings. No special notes. ===== First serving with water On the nose: didn't open well. I still could not distinguish anything but peat. Palate: way smoother and enjoyable. Woody/oaky and a bit sweeter, but that is it. The orange fainted scent that I detected neat is gone. Finish: spicy and long. No special feelings. No special notes. ===== Second serving neat Nose: I could smell green grapes. The sour background is a bit more evident and it smells a bit more medicinal. The burning of the alcohol is gone, and it feels like eucalyptus or menthol. I might be putting a personal memory here, but it is a bit refreshing, remembering me of a pool when I was a kid. Interesting twist. Palate: still wild, spicy and mouth watering. Finish: spicy and long. No special feelings. No special notes. ===== Second serving with water On the nose: still nothing special. Plain generic whisky. Palate: again... smoother and enjoyable and a bit sweeter, but that is it. Finish: spicy and long. No special feelings. No special notes. ===== I am not a professional and It's been a while since I last tasted a whisky, so I might be rusty. Overall it is not a bad whisky, but it surely is far from being a GOOD one. In my opinion it does not worth the price tag and I would not buy again, however I would accept it as a gift and it would take me over a year to finish the bottle.69.9 EUR per Bottle

I always try to leave flavor tags for my reviews, but in this case I can only say it is spicy; everything else is bland. The bottle says a lot of stuff, but I could not get anything it says. The ABV is 46% hence the spiciness I could detect, but nothing else. I'm angry AND sad because this thing is almost tasteless, but costed me a lot (to my standards) and I bought TWO bottles. I not only bought TWO bottles but I gave one as a gift to my brother. Terrible gift. Method and Madness (M&M) is a Middleton micro distillery. I never tried anything from them before, but what I could understand is that this one is a (failed) experiment. Thank God a limited edition. Plain Jameson, also from Middleton, has a looooot more flavor than this guy. To make it clear, the taste is not bad, but it is also not good, because it's absent. I do not recommend, at least not for the price I paid (€98 on March 2023).98.0 EUR per Bottle

Ok, I have to restart saying that I am not an expert. I also have to say that I was drinking a peated whisky before, and intentionally tried this one to see what different notes could I get, and I was happily surprised with the new bouquet that was opened to me. Orange, vanilla and honey. It feels like a complete revamp of this fella, and I completely recommend giving it a try.23.0 EUR per BottleTesco Extra

I'm not an expert. That said... Neat ---- Alcohol present on the nose. I could not distinguish the notes at first. Later I could smell caramel and ripe bananas/pears or green apple. I could not distinguish very well. On the palate is spicy at first. When it reaches the side of the tongue is sweet and pleasant. The green apple and coconut hints are more present. The finish felt short and somewhat dry and refreshing. With water ---------- On the nose: the alcohol is gone. The scent of ripe bananas/pears and green apple is much much more strong. Almost resembles almond extract. On the palate: spiciness is gone, at first. Becomes sweeter and the ripe fruit taste diminishes but it is still present. The coconut however only appears at the end while the liquid is still in mouth slayer with the spiciness. The finish is short, not much to say. My verdict is that this is an verage whiskey: not bad at all, but far from the best I have before neither does worth the regular price tag (as per today €50). I will definitely buy again if I find another discount.30.0 EUR per BottleTesco Extra
