Tried this neat as it was an offering at the resort where I was staying. Once you have a few sips and the burn takes out half your taste buds, the remaining ones will be able to pick up some oak and citrus, transitioning a bit to nutty aftertaste. Each time I swallow it seems to re-energize the burn, like a hot pepper you can’t wash out of your mouth.

Nose provides a sweet note of maple syrup. On the pallet initially hits the expected sweetness, but the comes the devil... strong, strong smoke flavor hits, but still remains the sweet undertones. Be ready for the Smokey hit before you sip this one, it’s stronger than Laugavulin and Ardbeg.

Nice blend of the Toasted Applewood and Maple Whiskey. Each were strong on their own, but the blend of flavors mellows and refined both flavors.

On the nose I picked up a sweet seaweed and brine, with ripe fruit. However, the brine seemed non-existent on the tongue; starting with oak and mellowing to sweet fruit, cherries, and ripe banana. I added a few drops of water which turned down the oak flavors allowing the sweetness and more complex fruits to stand out.
