Peated Single Malt — WalesTasted November 24, 2021The fruitiness reminds me of Green Spot but without the single pot still creaminess. When you learn where the peat comes from it makes perfect sense…it’s understated (more of a seasoning than a main ingredient). I don’t usually think of whiskey as being refreshing, but this is. Nice afternoon pick-me-up.
Kilbeggan Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still — IrelandTasted October 20, 2021Mellon jolly rancher and bubble gum on the nose. Follows through on the palate with the addition of cereals and green apple. Overall very fresh and clean.
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandTasted October 20, 2021Wow. Definitely see why most reviews say ‘BBQ’. Super peaty/smoky but also balanced by some intense sweetness. Chocolate on the nose. A touch of salted caramel. I get a slight grassiness that I normally associate with certain beer hops. This is super good and super interesting.
