Tasting Notes
"The whisky is meaty and full of coastal peat aromas with seaweed and lemon found on the nose. There's a touch of coffee grounds here too as well as some herbal notes. The whisky is moderately full and soft in the mouth, but has a peppery and spicy bite in the midpalate. The finish is on the bitter side and the roasted malt for sure comes through in those coffee notes mixed with the peat smoke. It's a fine whisky, but it's young and the nose is more compelling than the taste. But the theme this year seems to be a rough-and-ready punk rock whisky so it seems that their end goal has been achieved."
