Tastes

For a sub-$20 scotch blend, you could definitely do worse. Finish has a conspicuous burn that a single ice cube will erase. Restrained but noticeable peat profile paired with vanilla and spice. Closest comparison at this price range is Grant's, which I like for what it is, but I like this better. I think this scotch is better than its ratings suggest.

Spicy mix of cinnamon, oak, and apple.

Batch 84. Toasted marshmallow nose with stonefruit in the background. Charred caramel on the palate accompanied by vanilla, leather, and pepper. Finish is very oaky with a spicy burn that is subdued with a bit of water.

Heavy pour with one ice cube. Sweet up front with cherries, vanilla, and candied pecans. Closes hot and a bit spicy with clove, pepper, and nutmeg. Very enjoyable, but probably could have used another rock.

One ice cube. Honey and toffee up front give way to clove and roasted peanuts in the finish. Very satisfying.
