J.W. Dant Bourbon Bottled in Bond
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 15, 2016 (edited October 15, 2018)Nose is cherry, fruit, fresh hay. Slight citrus underneath. Orange peel comes with the first taste with nutmeg hints of leather. Even with 4 years in oak it tastes very young. Rye comes in the finish with white pepper and baking spices. DSP-KY-1 bottled KY-31 Comment***Tasted w/Evan W BIB***drier w/ more citrus than EW Of course both H Hill, same BIB, same color, but slightly different taste and finish J W Dant not rare but very hard to find-because its so average and doesn't have BIG name -
Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon

Reviewed June 15, 2016 (edited December 9, 2017)When I want to DRINK and not sip this is my go to. Ole Fashion glass, ice bucket, southern rock from the 70s LOUD and my BIB EV. Jump off nobody gonna know. -
Maker's Mark American Pharoah
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 22, 2016 (edited September 12, 2017)Bought a bottle because I could. It will sit on the bar as a "novelty" and conversation bottle. It was advertised as MM with a big markup for a pretty blue and yellow container. Go Ukraine! I'll serve it in 27 years when we have another triple crown winner. -
12 Flying off the shelves with NAS Small Batch replacing stocks. Be very greedy when given opportunity. Dark golden brown as any older Bourbon should be. Long oily legs on my neat Glencairn. Vinella and caramel with some fruit hit the nose w/light alcohol. Taste broadens flavor profile with nuts and spice along with the formentioned. Some sweet apple pie is appreciated. Thick spicy finish that's decently long. Great balance with flavors mixing and changing-- quite excellent rolling on the tongue and down the hatch. I'm enjoying one of the last 2015 bottling with a Nicaraguan and some early 70s rock. Life lived.

William Larue Weller Bourbon (Fall 2014)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 15, 2016 (edited July 3, 2017)This is a 97 not 90! Possibility the best bourbon I've ever tasted. The 2013 & 2015 are good but not up to the standard the 14 set! The nose is heavy molasses and black cherry. Leather and clove are softly present. The taste is incredibly complex with a multitude of flavors exchanging places. Oak and fruitcake flirt for the lead only to give way to brown sugar and tangerine. Touch of cinnamon heat. Every mouthful brings new tastes and surprises as flavors bud and mix. WOW The finish is long and warm. Spice tickles the teeth and gums while the full taste dances on. This powerhouse should be enjoyed neat but a drop or two of branch would be OK for the ladies. -
Russell's Reserve 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 15, 2016 (edited June 23, 2016)Best enjoyed with some 70s RStones and a fine cigar. The father and son do us bourbon geeks justice. Vanilla bean, caramel, and just the right amount of kick. Smooth silk expression of love. -
Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 14, 2016 (edited May 15, 2016)Oak and hay play well behind the cherries and berries with apple on the nose. The taste is floral and molasses. Spice rises as this tasty whiskey sits on the palette. Finish just doesn't quit with an ole fashion cinnamon toothpick on your tongue. Complete from nose to home! -
Batch QBC N On the nose, lots of Oak, hay, orange peal and leather. Orange carries to the taste along with dark cherry and cedar. Some pear and butterscotch play background. Below the dominate tastes hides cinnamon and burnt caramel. I'm drinking neat and the whisky is screaming strength and complexity. Noahs Mill finishes long and oily with heat resurfacing. Maybe I'll put a few drops of branch in and write a different review,----NAW!

Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 19, 2016 (edited August 27, 2016)I keep going back. Side by side w/EagleRare/Weller/Stag Jr/and other better bourbons it holds up very well. It's what a staple should be, bold, hint of fruit and nuts, and overriding molasses and sweet burnt maple corn. And for <$30 Yummy!! Update Late Aug 2016: Just found 2004 barrel #s 336 & 412 gathering heavy dust on shelf in store "on the wrong side of town". Keep up the search my friends! (Also found Craig 12, 2013 release Four Roses single b, and white box Bookers)
