Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 18, 2020 (edited March 14, 2020)Really good as expected but SBS with the 2018 it’s outclassed. Easy sipper but does not have the big blooming flavor profile as earlier yrs -

Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 17, 2017 (edited September 23, 2017)Full boat with the normal suspects-Caramel & Corn sugar. Big on leather with plum jam and hint of campfire smoke. Big and bold. For the Forestor fans a must. Thumbs Up! -
Very close to the 20 but the flavors beginning to flatten. Unlike ALL of the reviews I read it's not over oak'd. Color is nice darker Amber and the nose has burnt molasses and fruit up front with sour citrus hiding underneath. Taste is a fading maple syrup and dry nuts. This is one crazy good, slowly aged bourbon, that's moved past it's prime. If you get a side-by-side with the 20 it will make sense.

George Dickel 17 Year Distillery Reserve (2016 Release)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed February 4, 2017 (edited November 29, 2022)3 star but downgraded to 2 on price. Very smooth with maple and vanilla as expected. The problem with this 17yr is it's past its prime. Flavors fall flat and the additional age brings nothing new except thinness. I really enjoy the 12 because it's tasty, simple, and unpretentious but this one is a major disappointment. I had big expectations but that too fell flat!
