Tastes

Citrus, leather, newsprint, quite tart and dry; leaves me wishing for a tad bit more sweetness.

Amazingly delicious and smooth. Maple, pear, black pepper, hints of oak, finish manages to be spicy without a strong burn.

Heavily vanilla, banana pancakes drenched in maple syrup. A good spicy bite at the end. Really delicious except for a strong ethanol taste that comes through in the middle.

Orange marmalade, vanilla, wood. Smooth at first but finishes harsher, with a little too much ethanol. This is alright but not one of my favorites.

Smooth cherry pie with a kick. Similar to Blantons or Weller Antique but with a bit more spice in the finish. Very drinkable.

Anise, rye, dried fruit, green apple. Yummy flavors but not very smooth- a little too much ethanol lingers after the spicy finish.

Not as good as the Old Weller Antique 107. This one has notes of cherry and is more medicinal and a little greener, but still an enjoyable drink.

Pick by Copperwood/ Barrel 327 Smooth and spicy. Strong vanilla taste, some green apple, brown sugar and faint anise. Alright but not amazing.

Has that green wood taste that I associate with young whiskeys. Other than that, some cherry, a bit of oak. Not terrible but nothing special.

I really like the mouth feel of this- it's oily and on the heavy side but incredibly smooth. With a single ice cube, very sweet up front- caramel and toffee and vanilla but with green apple tartness as well. Some leather and baking spice in the finish. Edit: upping my rating from 3.5 to 4 on second tasting. I just love the nutty chocolate toffee of this one.
