Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 14, 2022Smooth cherry pie with a kick. Similar to Blantons or Weller Antique but with a bit more spice in the finish. Very drinkable. -
KO Distilling Distiller's Reserve Bonded in Bond Straight Rye Whiskey
Rye — Virginia, USA
Reviewed June 13, 2022Anise, rye, dried fruit, green apple. Yummy flavors but not very smooth- a little too much ethanol lingers after the spicy finish. -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2022-01 "Ronnie's Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed June 10, 2022 (edited July 22, 2022)I really like the mouth feel of this- it's oily and on the heavy side but incredibly smooth. With a single ice cube, very sweet up front- caramel and toffee and vanilla but with green apple tartness as well. Some leather and baking spice in the finish. Edit: upping my rating from 3.5 to 4 on second tasting. I just love the nutty chocolate toffee of this one. -
Very smooth; nice blend of fruity, smoky, woody, sweet honey, baking spices. This is good but it's on the thin side and I prefer the richness of Lagavulin. Edit: the second time I tasted this back-to-back with Lagavulin (both 18 and distillers edition), I actually might have preferred this. It is so light and floral that it makes it a very approachable Islay.
