Nose: Sweet and sour combo. Baked green apples drizzled with dade syrup. Palate: Less fruit than the nose. Dry woody notes. Sherry cask maturation noticeable, but not dominant. More sweet notes appear, toffee and melted butter. Finish: Medium to long. Tangerin zest but with the pith. Some bitter notes become dominant in the finish. Conclusion: Interesting combination of flavors. The bitter notes may be off-putting to some, but it also adds to the complexity. certainly not bad value for money.

Take your time, add water and you will be richly rewarded! Complex and interesting. Young, fresh, and bold. Nose is sweet, smoky, briny with some herbaceous notes. On the palate, dark chocolate with sea salt, cinnamon, peppery, oaky. Even with water added still packs a punch. Mouth coating and medium to long finish with pleasant mocha notes. An integrity malt with lots of character. Don’t try if you’re only into smooth blends. :)

Smoky, peaty, sweet vanilla, the typical Laphroaig signature. Young and bold, and the 48 ABV is perfect to enhance its complexity. Tobacco leaves, liquorice, smoked ham, … delicious if you’re into peated Islay malts. At this price point, you cannot go wrong with this bottling. Proof a NAS scotch can be value for money sometimes.

Sweet vanilla on the nose with some fresh green apple in the background and a hint of citrus. More creamy vanilla sweetness on the palate. Also some bitter notes, perhaps a result of the stout cask maturation, but not dominant at all. Finish is short to medium, pleasantly sweet but no complexity.

Less peaty and medicinal than the 10y. A little more smoke and the vanilla sweetness is more dominant. Leathery. But the most outstanding flavors, especially on the palate and finish, are spice. Pepper, spearmint, wood spice. Dry and medium finish, mint notes linger.

Lots of dark dried fruits on the nose, like raisins, prunes, dades. But also some fresh fruit notes in the background, pear more than apple. Sweet, caramel. Less fruity on the palate and more wood spice and dryness with a touch of walnut bitterness. Really warming and long finish. Perfect nightcap!

Needs a lot of time in the glass and some water to open up. But patience gives rich rewards! Tastes better and better each sip even after 1 hour in the glass. Delicious nose of caramel, banana, dried fruits, and a creamy vanilla. More spicy on the palate with cinnamon and cloves, a bit leathery. Pleasant coating mouthfeel and long lingering finish with orange marmalade flavors lasting the longest.

On the nose, light smoke and honey sweetness. Also something herbal, like fresh tobacco leaves, some wood spice and a light alcohol prickle. On the palate, bread and cereals, and more spice. Lingering smoke, but never dominant. Warm and long finish. I would guess a higher ABV, perhaps due to the bold flavors. Really interesting dram. Would definitely buy this again.

Traditional bourbon flavors, but with stronger oak influence than usual. Cinnamon and baking spice. Not a lot of fruity notes. Less complex than perhaps expected from a 10 year old, but pleasant nevertheless. Dry oakiness and spices dominate the palate and finish. Hint of mint. Enjoyable sipper, but I prefer WT101 because it has more complexity. Perhaps they should bottle this at higher strength too?

Excitingly complex. Salty, smokey, savory, sweet, it's all there. Apricots, almonds, ash, pineapple. Oily. Spicy. On the palate similar fruity notes as on the nose. Dry oakiness. Good balance of bourbon and sherry cask influence. Tobacco. Wish finish was longer. Still enjoyable, some lingering smoke and wood spices. A bit astringent and a touch of bitterness. Love it! Complexity you rarely find in a 10 year old malt. Superb quality.
