Glendalough Double Barrel Single Grain
Single Grain — Ireland
Reviewed December 18, 2020 (edited March 6, 2022)I'm not a fan of wine at all, so I always avoided Sherry Cask whiskies. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered that the Irish I picked up on a whim was in fact, sherry cask! Then one day I decided to actually open my bottle of Glendalough, and my 'whiskey trajectory' changed forever. Like other reviewers have said, this is a relatively 'hot' whiskey, but the strength of the flavours is appropriately calibrated to the heat. The thing that immediately pulled me in was the general nuttiness and strong almost milky eggnog note on the finish.40.0 CAD per Bottle -
Teacher's Highland Cream
Blended — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed September 18, 2020 (edited April 10, 2022)Mossy, earthy peat (not smoke!) on both the nose and palate. Fruity honey sweetness. I actually prefer this with a single ice cube; turns up the vanilla a notch or two. 5/5 points for value. One of the cheapest bottles around. Far, far better then any other low $20’s bottle of Blended Scotch, and then some.22.5 CAD per Bottle
