Bourbon — (bottled in) Colorado, USA
Reviewed January 3, 2023 (edited January 26, 2023)Nose: maple, vanilla cinnamon Palate: maple, vanilla, oak, nutty, saccharine Finish: sweet finish that quickly turns astringent. I did my best to give this whiskey a chance. I made sure to go below the shoulder and let it sit for a few weeks and it did not get any better. I tried to use it in mixed drinks like an old fashioned and it did not go well. My guess is a large portion of the whiskey is young. For the price you can get a lot better with other brands.49.99 USD per Bottle -
I almost didn't try this whiskey because I think most celebrity whiskeys end up just being a gimmick. That being said, I read some reviews and background on creating this whiskey, so I gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised and ended up really liking it. It is not the best one I have ever tasted, but it is pretty easy to drink. Nose - Initially when I poured it all I could smell was a strong acetone smell. I let it sit in the glass for 5-10 minutes and it opened up. I could smell maple and vanilla with a hint of cinnamon. There was a touch of oak and mesquite as well. Pallet - It is definitely has some sweetness to it. There was maple and vanilla and an almost burnt toffee taste. Towards the end there was some mesquite smoke flavor. Finish - A lingering sweetness with some charred wood notes. The flavor lingered for a bit. This whiskey I prefer neat. I personally do not think it needs any ice or water. If I was introducing someone to whiskey, this would be one I would consider choosing.38.0 USD per Bottle
