James E. Pepper 1776 Straight Rye Barrel Proof
Rye — Indiana (Bottled in Kentucky), USATastedI really dig the 100 proof. This takes it up a notch. Having it on the rocks tonight. My batch is 58.7% (117.4 proof) ABV. Getting an amazing dill on the nose even with the ice. Great taste that holds up well on ice.

Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USATastedDay 14 of #30daysofbourbon for the #30daybourbonchallenge #bhm Eagle Rare Barrel Pick. Tonight's taste came to me from The Rotgut Review and is my 1st Eagle Rare tasting. 45% ABV of Buffalo Trace low rye mashbill# 1 I decided to compare it to my Benchmark and 1776 Bourbon. (Realized just now I choose a high rye bourbon with 1776. DOH) Nose is oak, toffee, and spice Palate is spice and oak. finish is almost a dark chocolate. The bourbon is definitely darker from the longer time in the cask. 4/5. Great bourbon. Too bad it's a unicorn in Oh.
