    Evokes: Late summer nights playing board games with friends and snacking on popcorn and dark chocolate. Smooth with a touch of smoke. Soft vanilla at the finish. The addition of water brings out floral flavours.

    Coffee cake and a pot of slightly over brewed tea. Very smooth with the sherry more noticeable on the finish. Addition of water adds a bit of pepper and nutmeg as well as some raisins. Prefer it without the water.

    I once ordered a gin cocktail at a v posh bar which unexpectedly had absinthe in it. This reminds me of that cocktail. Mellows out a bit with water which brings out the cereal. Definitely prefer it with the water.

    A well fed Christmas pudding. Strong sherry at the start, a bit of burn at the end. Water smooths it out substantially and brings out the cereal. Slightly prefer it with water but overall, I could do without figgy pudding on most days.

    White balsamic on the nose. Strong oak and banana taffy on the palate. It sort of wandered off the path towards the end and I don’t think it made it to the end of the hike. With a touch of water the banana taffy disappears and the oak really comes through. Picked up some cinnamon tree bark on that hike.

    Creamy and smooth with a slightly fruity finish. Sort of evokes a bourbon. After a touch of water the alcohol comes through more which was unexpected. Definitely prefer this without water.

    When you bite into a chocolate truffle and discover that it’s filled with whisky infused burnt caramel. A pleasant enough surprise but better when you’re prepared for it.

    So this one time my roommate brought back some cheese from Barcelona which made everyone’s mouth go tingly and then numb. This dram really brought me back to that cheese.

    For being 46%, this singed my nose hairs a bit! Slight syrupy texture and a medicinal/botanical start. Extremely mild peat. With a bit of water it opened up and cinnamon and a briny soapy(?) finish.
