Tastes

Evokes: after we got engaged, we took the long route back home and went on a foggy road trip through NorCal including several planned and unexpected detours. Tasting this whisky was a bit like that road trip. Surprising tasting journey. Cereal smoke on the nose, a morning coffee, and a lush red wine. After adding water I was immediately transported to a hotel cereal breakfast bar.

Evokes: an oat raisin cookie left next to the campfire for a few too many hours. Adding water opened it up considerably.

Evokess: your favorite old wool sweater and a hug from your father. Not particularly complex, but a nice blend of peat and vanilla. Slightly oily with a creamy base.

A Smokey yellow birthday cake with a rich vanilla buttercream. Evokes: a soft cozy sitting room with a plush leather couch, fireplace lit, eat a super moist sponge cake.

Evokes: the feeling of getting into bed with freshly shaved legs. Jo Malone perfume and a perfect flat white.

Evokes: marshmallow s’mores and a spicy chicken tajine . Not the menu you would expect but enjoyable never the less.

Evokes: A burnt caramel truffle in a cedar forest. Reminds me of how all whiskies tasted to me before I figured out that, actually, I quite enjoy whisky.

Evokes: caramel cookies and a nonfiction book. Very inoffensive.

Evokes: a plate of shortbread biscuits next to a plush, navy velvet, couch. Bit of burn at the end but the texture is buttery smooth.

Evokes: Having drinks with mates in the park, nibbling on a chocolate bar that has fallen in the dirt. Wash it all down with a really nice Pilsner.
