Tastes

This is interesting. This is smooth, with a strong oak profile, brown sugar and a dark black cherry wine finish.

Added a little splash of water. Brown sugar, oak and honey. Slight floral note. Oily and rich.

I was hoping for more, but didn’t get it. This has a nice brown sugar, banana and oak smell on the nose. The flavor profile has a sweet and pronounced wood, more brown sugar, toasted almond, caramel and butter to it. At 93 proof, I thought this would be subtle in alcohol-I was wrong. This is nice, not overly complex. Decent for the price.

Really good, slight banana and baking spice, caramel and brown sugar, light oak. Slightly sweet, aromas of alcohol without the burn. Not worth secondary prices, but I am glad that I cracked a bottle open!

This has some alcohol heat, but nothing that overpowers the bourbon. This bottling comes in at 59.73% alcohol. The flavor has sweet caramel notes, butterscotch, brown sugar, baking spice, slight club soda and oak. This is a nice bourbon.

This is okay. I think it is overpriced. Considering this is finished in PX barrels, I am not sure what I was expecting. There is a slightly sweet, grape Cognac like smell and taste to this, but then it almost finished like a sour fruit medicine. So might really like this, but I’d rather have a straight bourbon or a bottle of PX. It doesn’t work for my palette.

Had neat. This is powerful, rich in brown sugar, spice and almost a little heavy on the oak...to the point that this tasted like a much older bourbon. The oak makes this a little hotter and heavy in alcohol profile than it actually is. The minerality of Widow Jane is present and this is a robust and well executed product. Enjoyed.

There is a hint of brown sugar behind a musty peaty smell. Light amber in color. The taste is okay, it is smooth and there is a woody taste, slight burn, burnt brown sugar and orange peel, slight mushroom and moss. I am glad i tried it before i bought a bottle. It’s okay, just not my taste profile.

So this juice has a price tag associated with it .... got it. Once you get over the price, this is really good!!!
