This is kind of indistinct if I'm being honest. There's nothing wrong with it, but I don't get the smoke or other interesting darker notes I like in an anejo. Instead, this feels quite smooth and almost warm, but with not much that stands out. I do sip on this certainly, but its not sacred enough to warrant never mixing with it either.38.0 USD per Bottle

Like the other two variants here, this has been rebranded under oxbow distilling. The spiced version is smoother and easier going than the white or dark rums. I found the barreled aged spiced to be very smooth and pleasant. This unaged version is a bit harsh up front, but with nice clove and almost a woody, citrusy note that I can't quite place. I haven't mixed with it yet, but its quite good on its own.

This has also been rebrnded to oxbow distilling. Somehow this is rated even lower than the dark rum, even though this is better. This is very strong, but pleasantly so. Notes of grass and farm fresh hay are prominent. There's also a barrel ated version available which mellows out the initial burn a bit.

Not sure I can speak to all of the complexities in the featured tasting notes. Chocolate and spearmint? Probably not. But this is spicy and fiery for sure, and without even checking the abv I could tell this one packed a punch right up front. This is a good sipping rye for the evenings, so long as you take your time with it.

Spirit of India - Feni - Cashew Feni Apple & Cashew Brandy
Flavored Brandy — Goa, India
Reviewed February 9, 2024Its going to take me a bit to truly get to know this one. The burn hits you right up front and doesn't mess around. It takes a bit of time to really start getting those flavors, but its a lot less nutty than I was expecting. There's something savory and almost pungent happening on the back, and almost no sweetness surprisingly. I like it, but I'm a bit confused by it.
