Tastes

The nose IS pickle brine! I could not pinpoint that until I read the professional review. This is the smoothest rye I've ever had. No water needed to mellow this. Slight char flavor. Very tasty without the burn.

Nose honey caramel. Overwhelmingly boozy on first sip. Definitely leaves a lingering Kentucky hug. Flavor is toasty cereal with honey.

Spicy and peppery. Not my fave...but would probably be good in a mixed drink.

Nose apples and honey. Smooth finish with vanilla and a touch of cinnamon. Easy drinking bourbon.

Nose is caramel. Flavor a little peppery, with a rye spiciness. Very little burn for how high alcohol content is. One drop of water changes the aroma to more floral and mellows the burn.

Nose is vanilla and baking spices. Finishes medium with a sweet subtle warming. A drop of water smoothes it out but it loses the sweetness and more of the char is noticeable.

Nose is mostly alcohol forward, I don't notice much of a dominant aroma. Flavor is somewhat piney with a strong after burn, no lingering flavor.

Vanilla caramel nose. Very smooth for 114 proof. Long finish. One drop of water smoothes it out even more. A very tasty bourbon.

Nose has almost a honeysuckle aroma. Nice rye warming hug without a sharp burn.

Not my fave. Nose is a nice caramel. Initial taste reveals a rye sharpness on the front of the tongue vs a burn in the back of the throat. Finish is a warming of the throat with no noticeable lingering dominant flavor. One drop of water does lessen the burn.
