Glen Scotia Victoriana
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed September 12, 2022 (edited February 21, 2023)Nose: Sweat, greasy machinery, leather, tannins, mildew on dirty rags, my dads musty basement, old dusty books, slight honey, vanilla, smoke, funk Palette: light smoke, old books, sawdust, deep honey notes, vanilla, citrus peels, apples, sweaty clothes, raisins Finish: Long, full bodied, sourdough bread, creamy, vanilla, honey, moldy wood, Home Depot wood section I know my description may be off putting but this is one unique and incredible whisky. Possibly my favorite out of my Glen scotia collection (15,16,18, and this). The smell of old books in an abandoned library and greasy machinery teleports me for the Victorian era! Don’t skip on this campbell town funk!95.0 USD per Bottle -
Talisker 10 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed September 12, 2022 (edited September 20, 2022)Nose: Coastal notes, seaweed, dried sardines, sea salt, brine, honey, red apples, worn leather, slight peat, wet hay, mildew, drift wood Palette: honey, apples, pears, salty seaweed, campfire smoke, brine Finish: medium bodied, salty, then sweet honey Fantastic classic scotch. I would give it a higher rating if there weren’t many older and unique expressions in my collection. This is pretty much my daily dram and one I order at lounges.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Glenmorangie Signet
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed September 12, 2022 (edited May 12, 2023)Nose: Sweet whipped cream, mocha frap, creme brûlée, tiramisu, roasted coffee beans, honey, vanilla, floral Palette: Whipping cream, expresso, tiramisu, orange peel, vanilla, manukau honey, dark chocolate, coco powder, marshmallow Finish: Long, oily, creamy, oaky, semi bitter crushed almond skins, tobacco leaves Overall this was an incredible whisky. I have 3 bottles at all times in my collection. Drinking this is pretty much like a layered and complex liquid tiramisu. The flavor evokes and winds as you chew on it. ABV is very balanced and while the sip is smooth it also has enough to remind you this has some exquisite and old tasting whisky. From what I’ve read this NAS contains some 30+ year old stuff? I wouldn’t doubt it. A must try!190.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: Honey, ripe guava, lychee, nectarines, coconuts, crisp apples, vanilla, Concord grapes Palette: Burst of tropical punch, pink guava, lychee, red mangoes, over ripened bananas, coconut flakes, honey, passion fruit, sugar glaze, Concord grape jam Finish: Long full bodied, oily, succulent fresh tropical fruits, woody, spicy A masterpiece of a whisky. I have 3 bottles in my collection, each with a different ABV due to the batch. Out of the hundreds of whisky I’ve tasted this is always top 3. The flavor is so full and oily, it coats the mouth completely so the flavor lingers. Even the empty glass has a delicate woody/ floral tea fragrance that lingers and evolves. Being cask strength this may be too strong for beginners and watering it down makes it too sweet and simple tasting for me. My favorite was one I had at around 62% abv. Must buy!

Nose: Coastal shrubs, salty sea mist, honey, damp campfire that was just put out, slight brine, floral, egg whites? Palette: Honey, vanilla, crisp yellow pears, light smoke, angel food cake? Finish: Short to medium bodied, coastal, sweet Liquid smoke! Reminds me a bit of Highland Park 12 and Talisker 10, both which I adore. However the smoke on this is smoother and more gentle to the palette and without water much sweet than those two. Does not taste as complex though nor does it have many hidden notes that appear after multiple sips. Overall a fanatic dram that I knew I had to buy from a sample tasting at the airport. Great for beginners that want to get explore some smoke.50.0 USD per Bottle

Forty Creek Confederation Oak Reserve
Canadian — Ontario, Canada
Reviewed September 12, 2022 (edited November 5, 2023)Nose: Sweet honey, cereal, vanilla with buttery toast Palette: Dominant notes of pralines, maple syrup, honey nut, light cream, almond skins Finish: Smooth, warm, sweet and then bitter like from the skins of toasted almonds, light oak It’s a fantastic Canadian Whisky and easy for beginners. For those looking for more kick, this may be too smooth. While this one is less sweet than the other offerings from Forty Creek, it may still be too sweet for some palettes. Overall taste is well balanced and nice for easy sipping. Too syrupy for an everyday dram. Great bottle for the piece I picked it up for.47.0 USD per Bottle -
Glen Grant 18 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 24, 2021 (edited September 12, 2022)Nose: Toasted walnuts, vanilla, honey, crisp apples, caramel, pears Palette: toasted marshmallow, cotton candy candy, honey, green and red apples, light pears, light spiced, slightly nutty Finish: Medium to long, sweet, oily, oaky Very easy to drink and welcoming for anyone looking for a delicate and beautiful scotch. IMHO edges out among a lot of other 18 year old scotches if peat isn’t your thing. Might be a bit boring if you’re looking for something complex and multi layered. Overall a very solid and beautiful 18 year old.135.0 USD per Bottle -
