Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

Strong orange and honey scent. Really opens up after 5 to 10 minutes. Very smooth drink. Surprising find. Coats the mouth really well. Delicious butterscotch, honey, orange, vanilla, smoke, and leather taste profile. Finishes smoothly with a strong butterscotch flavor. Very clean and tasty 93/100. Tasted it again after a few months and got hugely disappointed. This is a drink you want to finish quickly as it doesn’t oxidize well. Overall rating drops to 82/100 after sitting for a few months. Note to self, drink faster.

Clyde May's Special Reserve Alabama Style Whiskey (110 Proof)
Flavored Whiskey — USA
Reviewed August 30, 2017 (edited August 11, 2019)Hidden gem. Balanced smell (rich and smooth), great flavor (fruit, nuts, light smoke, butterscotch), clean and smoky aftertaste. Very pleasantly surprised by this drink. Very easy to over consume. Dangerously smooth, great overall balance, and 110 proof to boot. Overall score 96/100. Pick one up before price increases. -
Very light and simple aroma. Initial taste is not impressive and flat. Adding few drops of water makes this drink almost too light and airy. Aftertaste is the far better than the smell or the flavor with smooth butterscotch notes. The smooth aftertaste really lingers but in a pleasant manner. The finish is light and clean. Would recommend using a splash of patience when sampling this bourbon. Was not impressed by first few sips but really improved over time. The bourbon opens up after 10 minutes. Onced aired, very easy and lightly floral bourbon to drink. I can see myself finishing half of the bottle while enjoying a mild cigar. Initial profile 79/100. Overall score 94/100.

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 30, 2017 (edited October 20, 2017)Great color - a bit on the darker end. Strong and sophisticated smell with vanilla notes. Smell of butterscotch rises to the surface after it rests. Very smooth but complex. It's got a leathery and dark fruit-like taste profile but finishes clean. The aftertaste is flavorful with a hint of smoke and long. Very clean transition from aftertaste to full finish. Solid overall value. Personal rating of 94/100. -
A solid starter whisky. This whisky can hold its own vs most. Definitely above a mixer grade. Taste is relatively smooth, slightly fruity finish with a clean aftertaste. The bottle and presentation is the nicer end but at a price point that makes me question it's overall value. Not on top of my favorite choice around the $50 price point. I give it 86 points out of 100.
