Nose: Caramel, vanilla and slight butterscotch. Slight fruity note on the edges. Detect slight note of fresh hay. Overall a pleasant smell...I suggest that you take some time to dissect it. Nothing overwhelms the nose not even to 100 proof. Palate: I need to slow down! The smell warranted a drink and I gulped it down. Again, nothing overpowering on the palate. Long mild finish with notes of wood and smoke. Cornbread like with some campfire smoke. I like this offering. Well balanced. Nothing really takes over but I get a full flavor. Earthy, slightly smoky with long finish. I can’t place the flavor on the finish but it is nice and warm and it lingers. Maybe just barrel notes? No spice bomb here, no burner on the tongue...just good bourbon. $20...I’ll keep it on my shelf.19.99 USD per Bottle

Jacob's Pardon Small Batch American Whiskey Recipe No. 1
Other Whiskey — USA
Reviewed December 22, 2020 (edited June 30, 2021)Light flavor on the nose. Reminds me of that melted butter just before it gets poured onto a bag of popcorn. It has that initial smell when you open the plastic wrapper on butterscotch hard candy. Lastly some cotton candy or candy corn mixed in the scent, can’t decide which.Very smooth on the tongue, cool and pleasant. Just a little reminder that it’s whiskey at the end and medium finish. Taste is definitely corn and some rye spice. I like it! Not a traditional whiskey but reminds me of a Armagnac....fruity flavor. Great for after a dinner meal as the final offering to finish the conversation. I had three servings while writing this review. Price is more for the limited release. There’s better stuff for under $90 but honestly...this is unique enough to justify the cost, plus a really neat bottle that will stay in use. I’d buy it again. Oh, orange peel...add that to the nose. -

Reviewed September 30, 2020 (edited February 20, 2021)Pleasant mild tangerine smell, almost a very ripe watermelon. Strong Carmel note. Very smooth to drink. Velvety texture, initially cool and sweet. Slight heat (rather warmth)at the end with long finish and after taste. I enjoyed it neat and found it a really good pour.50.0 USD per Bottle -
Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon 7 Year (2020 Limited Edition)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 23, 2020 (edited September 29, 2020)Started great with the aroma of leather, red hots, honeydew and Armagnac! Take your time on this one. 101 is well hidden. Rolled it around on the tongue for overall smooth experience. A little heat on the finish but very short lived. Just strong enough for that “up your nose” rush. I’m a fan of Armagnac and I do get hints in the smell, taste and after taste. Great combination of vanilla and grapes. I’m a fan of this bottle. Just neat and lots of extra time to ponder. There is a part of the smell that reminds me of the forest...maybe that’s Yellowstone. -
Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 25, 2019 (edited September 23, 2020)"Smells great! Soft on the nose but you can get a whiff of the 45% alcohol...hidden but it’s there. Sweet cinnamon, trace of chocolate. Ripe bananas to me. Edge of glass has light cloves as well. Orange, definitely a strong orange scent! No heat on initial pass over the tongue but soon after a light warming across the tongue and throat. Not strong, noticeable and pleasant not overbearing. Really the tasting experience is in the aftertaste. Long drawn out dispersing of flavors. Dry but lingering. This dram was a scent and aftertaste experience, both much more noticeable than the mild taste of cocoa and almond."29.0 USD per Bottle -
Floral scent. Very mild and pleasant. Smell is very slight and hard to pull out scents. Toffee, slight cigar smoke. Cherries. It has a cool chilled smell. Not very complex on the tongue. Very pleasing to just let it set for a spell. Mellow burn, call it warm but lingers a bit. Smooth sipping whiskey, great just neat. No spikes, not rich more on the sweet side. Spice resides a little but it’s mild. Balanced, no spikes and very smooth. Not complex but very good balance.
