Tastes

It's sort of similar to the Uigeadail but with more notes of blackberry and ash. Really delicious whiskey, and I normally don't find wine-aged islays to be all that incredible compared to other barrels.

I've only had this and the 9yo Lannister Lagavulin, and I prefer this one. Definitely one of the best peated single malts I've had so far.

Very happy that this is back to being 9 years old. Combined with the proof I think KC is officially worth the money now. That being said I'm not sure I'm really a Knob Creek person. I wish it was a little less spicy and a little more sweet, and there are other bourbons I like a lot more, but this is an Eagle Rare-level of great value now, and it's certainly not bad.

Good salted caramel, herbal, and rye bread flavor, but the nose is pretty lackluster, makes a 4-star whiskey into a 3.5 IMO. Despite that it makes a great old fashioned.

My favorite bourbon thus far, perfectly in the middle of the sweet and spicy spectrum for my tastes, with pleasant and intriguing floral or perfume flavors and a nice dark fruit (not cherry, though) note on the nose.
