Bardstown Bourbon Co. Fusion Series #8
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 22, 2023 (edited April 23, 2023)I’ve wanted to try Bardstown for quite some time but unfortunately, they really don’t distribute to where I live. I was in Louisville for a business trip and had the opportunity to sample several expressions from their line-up. To be sure, there’s some fantastic stuff at their higher end. But this one really stood out for me as unique and different, and that it is reasonably priced is icing on the cake. On the nose: bold and bright honey and caramel, apricot, hints of baked cherry pie. Palate: Sweetness in the form of apricots, black plums, slightly salty caramel. Sudden and nice hit of pepper that continues through the finish. Balanced. Finish: Lingering pepper, fruit, and chewy caramel. Overall: Interesting, exciting and truly enjoyable each pour. Highly recommend!60.0 USD per Bottle -
Tried this at a tasting of the Sagamore Spirt core expressions and this is the one that stood and had to come home with me. It’s different in all the good ways and delicious plain and simple. The nose is exiting and lovely…warm dark oak, dried cherries with a hint of apricot, candied walnuts and toffee all of which carry through to the taste with some added orange peel and very nice rye spice. The taste is DEEP and dark and lingering through the finish. This is a truly unique rye that I enjoy thoroughly each time I come back to it.65.0 USD per Bottle

Stranahan's Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt
American Single Malt — Colorado, USA
Reviewed July 11, 2022 (edited October 1, 2022)Liquor World Barrel 17-0192. 108.5 proof. Delicious. On the nose, banana, pear and honey, maybe some berries mixed in. Palate is sweet but not overwhelmingly so - berries, vanilla, cinnamon and oak. Pleasing, somewhat spicy finish. And great with a little water also. Really enjoyable sipper, that gets me excited about what American whiskey is doing.
