Tastes

Warm and smoky. Feels medium-bodied, and seems well-balanced (I know it shouldn't say "smooth", but it is!). Pleasantly peppery 🌶. Spice with a dash of sugar. I think this is a tasty bourbon--very savory. I like it. So...I may be partial to high rye bourbons--I'll have to look for more. 🥃 375ml

This is light-bodied and tastes green and vegetal...with a dash of salt? Like leafy greens with a bit of pepper. I was hoping for more bread or cereal notes because of the wheat, but no. However, this *is* my first tasting; it may get better after more tastes. ... Okay, 2nd tasting here... I'm getting a lot more sweetness and no strange saltiness. Still very thin, though. But "bright". And much better than my 1st tasting. I think letting it sit in the bottle after the first pour, mellowed it out. ... 3rd tasting: The salt is back--and it's soft and mineral-y; I'm getting sea salted caramels...which is actually not bad at all. (upping rating)

Medicinal, like sugary lemon cough drops, at first. Feels light and crisp. After letting it sit for a bit, flavors of graham crackers, cinnamon and... grated orange peel (orange pomander-esque)? After continued sipping, I'm reminded of Froot Loops (!!) --and...orange Smarties? Overall, this is a pleasure to drink! It tastes sunny and sweet. Uncomplicated. 🌞 Good choice for an instant cocktail. ... 2nd tasting: Yup. Boozy Froot Loops (or is it "Fruit Loops"?).

Be forewarned: This is a newbie's assessment! Very "woodsy" for me. I was looking forward to tasting the oft-described "caramel" and "vanilla" notes that are supposedly amped up due to the extra oak-ing, but all I get is this tannic wood. Oh well. Most likely it's my underdeveloped palate that's to blame. However, I was able to redeem this for myself by adding a generous dashing of walnut bitters and lemon honey which turned it yummy.

Super sweet. I thought I would love this because--peanut butter! And it is very PB-y, but it's *overwhelming* so. Like saccharine. It *is* good mixed as a cocktail with "regular" whiskey, though. So that's good at least and, with that, I don't regret buying this. ... 2nd Tasting: Getting chocolate syrup...like a liquefied Snickers Bar, for sure! The flavor seems so concentrated and syrupy--more like a liqueur. Definitely a mixer.

Fruity, bright, high ethanol, light. Not too exciting but easy to drink. 50ml

An "old school" bourbon. A classic. Sweet with a bite. Yeasty. 200ml

Richer than Buffalo Trace. A bit hotter? Still nice and sweet.
