Definitely a very good pour Big fan of the 1920 Different mash bill, so definitely differences between the 1920 and the 1924. The 1924 is beyond solid at 100 proof The mouth feel is great There is complexity and balance It is a more refined pour than the 1920 and is recognizable as the younger sibling of King of Kentucky. Out of the 4 expressions I have had with this mash bill its my favorite aside from King of Kentucky The old Early Times is pretty good as well The Cooper Craft is good but I rate it as the lowest of the 4 expressions Bottom line i like this mash bill, I really like this pour

Reviewed September 29, 2024Purchased in 2019 Another pour that has exceeded my expectations I expected a 3.75/5 to 4/5 Very viscous, some incredible legs on this scotch Enticing sherry as well as overall sweetness on the nose lures you in Palette is well balanced with the Sherry shining on through and continues into the finish Lots of lingering deliciousness Look at that Dark Red color!!! A lot of influence from both the Bourbon & Sherry Casks 4.25/5 A well done scotch that does not disappoint Cheers all to what's in ur glass. -

Important to state as a group we did 2 custom blends of 1928 last fall at Bhakta. 1 of those I brought to a bottle share with some big name bottles, such as a Stagg Jr pick and the 1928 was almost everyone's #1 or #2 pick as best bottle at the share. As far as the standard 1928 off the shelf definitely a superior spirit. Enough going on to make just about any drinker smile. The Calvados and Armagnac used to blend adds so much to this rye Very crushable Definitely a great bottle to have in your bar, I feel it delivers quite a bit at what I consider on the lower side of what I would expect All of the bottles std 1928, and the 2 blends from Bhakta were about 70.00 The blends I would add .25 of a point = 4.5/5 the main difference is how many different Armagnac's and from what years make up the 10% Armagnac in each blend. 1 blend we did used 2 Armagnac's, the other blend 4 different Armagnac's As well as the Calvados is XO might be the standard in all 1928's? The blends were excellent. Also important to note if someone with the same flavor profile as you does a pick at any distillery most likely you will enjoy it that much more...not all flavor profile As well as all picks are not created equal all is subjective70.0 USD per Bottle

I am a MGP / Litchfield fan I truly enjoy all bourbons including higher proof bourbons. As a comparison to Litchfield 10 year (4.25/5) not as much flavor shines through as the higher proof masks, perhaps I will add 1 drop of water next time & see how it opens up. Definitely happy to be drinking the 10.5 Year & glad I have backups
