Blue Note 17 Year Limited Edition Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 28, 2023Amazingly balanced Very sweet What some people call that Flintstone vitamin I pick up as a nuttiness... so I do pick up Dickel but I love it I would rate it 4.5 out of 5 -
Revisiting... Having a 4 oz Boston Round that was well stored filled to the top when bottle was a fresh crack Originally rated 4/0, but must say its at least a 4.25/5. Normally 4.0 or higher for me means I would buy a bottle, maybe a backup 4.25 definite buy with back up probable multiple backups possible 4.5 and 4.75 more of the same with an even greater appreciation 5.0 not certain if i have rated anything at 5/5 but if so everything was incredibly delicious...literally flawless With WLW price hitting 2K on secondary earlier this year, prices did decrease however too hard to find at or close to retail and so many other bottles as good and can be found at or around retail... WLW is a treat, sipping on this Christmas day 2022 and appreciating it, but not ISO CHEERS

Leopold Bros Three Chamber Rye - Holiday Edition 2021
Rye — Colorado, USA
Reviewed December 17, 2022Definitely enjoyable A nice bottle to have on hand especially to share with others To me this is off profile, absolutely a well done rye, but little if anything is comparable There are aromas and tastes that are so enticing As Leopold Bros say about this lost tradition of whiskey making is it unlocks oils and aromas -
Michter's US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon (2018 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 17, 2022Have had this bottle for 4 years now. I store all my whiskey exposed to no light, temperature stable in my heated/ AC home, and use a nitrogen argon barrier to prevent oxidation...point is little degradation would be my thought despite being open for so long. This pour was slightly muted Nothing negative Nothing outstanding Very drinkable/ enjoyable Other than these Michters Toasted barrels have become so hard to get at retail I would probably not buy another, however would probably grab 1 if I had the opportunity to share with others as nice (NOT GREAT) bottle to have on hand, just north of $100 there are so many better bottles at or below that price point IMHO Cheers -
Little Book Chapter 4: Lessons Honored
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 13, 2022Wish I had done this review on or shortly after a fresh crack, so here we are 2 + years later For me this is tasty, not wow tasty but definitely a solid pour. All is muted as nose, palate and finish nothing jumps out and nothing fall short Nose has some sweetness, typical bourbon oak, caramel...all faint Palate - proof fills mouth nicely Finish is long and enjoyable
