Undoubtedly the most undervalued whisky in Canada. Certainly the most undervalued legitimate Canadian Rye. This is not only an amazing sipping whisky (expectant spicey butter on the nose as you'd expect for a rye), it misses the pungent punch you in the face butterscotch/melting plastic of typical Canadian Ryes. In my opinion, the best rye for cocktails - hands down.

On paper this would check a number of my favourites' boxes: cask strength and sherry cask finished. Definitely sherry-forward, but the flavour is notably young, and the cask strength only adds an astringent dimension as opposed to amplifying the flavour.

Was hoping for more given its "Speyside approach" with a sherry cask touch, but this Irish Whiskey lacks the mellowing that would make it a great sipper.

Just an average-verging-on-not-good "fake" Japanese whisky. Very astringent and with a sweet almost-like-rye profile reminiscent of being aged in young and cheap American Oak that makes it not worth the price - even hiding in cocktails. Would not buy again.

Purchased as part of the 2020 Limited Spirit release. An enjoyable dram, expectedly reminiscent of a slightly peated Speyside, but the port finish is nearly indiscernible. Perhaps not worth the cost.

Now my favorite bourbon. Like a balance between a well made bourbon and a Speyside Scotch with a soft and nearly fruity palette.

Liked it, loved the colour, but couldn't avoid the taste of port simply being added to the mash.

Very fruit forward. Almost like the Basil Hayden port Rye, but much more natural. Definitely a special bourbon.
