The reason for the high rating is the value for the price. Obviously there are many better bourbons out there, but to find one of this quality for 15 dollars is remarkable. It is a standard for a reason. It has the classic oak and caramel taste, and you will never find a better bourbon for this price.

Very unusual taste. The first taste I noticed was almost a smokey, bacon flavor. I also noticed a hint of fruit and nut. It's not your conventional scotch, but once I got past the initial surprise of the flavor, I slowly warmed up to it. not a great scotch, but nothing to complain about. If you are feeling adventurous and want to try something different go for it, it's definitely worth trying at least once
