Aberlour 18 Year Double Cask Matured
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 8, 2022 (edited October 28, 2022)The Sherry finish aspect was throwing me off. On the nose I was picking up the fruit, but it seemed to be wrapped with a leather aspect. Smooth and wonderful on taste. I'm definitely picking up on the Sherry with a fruit aspect. The raisin does come come out at the end. Possibly Raisinnette, but with a good chocolate. -
Westland Peated American Single Malt
American Single Malt — Washington, USA
Reviewed October 15, 2021 (edited November 24, 2021)My peaty go to when I don't have Lagavulin or Laphroaig on hand. A little bit of a burn on the swallow, still quite enjoyable. -
I think I have found my new cheap, go to Scotch. Mind you, this will be unseating my old realizable Dewar's White Label. Costco's blend has gotten some good reviews, for its cost point and I'm in agreement. The nose may not impress you, but on the palate the body is full with round fruit notes. The bottom line, I can pick it up for less then Dewar's White any time I want.

High West Campfire (Discontinued)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in Utah), Multiple Countries
Reviewed August 29, 2021Definitely a bit of leather on the nose with just a hint of peat(?). The anticipation for the taste following the nose is JUSTIFIED. The complexity of the taste is a joy.
