I like the floral, vanilla notes here, and it’s still solid on its own terms. But honestly, most every wheater I put against it that has a little heat comes out on top. It’s just not as special in a time when everybody from Old Elk to Maker’s Mark are doing frankly more interesting things.

Well, it’s inoffensive.

Not quite the rowdy KO I hoped for, but it does successfully channel classic Wild Turkey vibes into a big rye with plenty of character.

A charred, chocolate, gingerbread winter dessert. Doesn’t climb the epic height of the 1920, but still an OF that carves out its own necessary space.

Just enough kick, priced right…the quintessential daily sipper.

Creamy vanilla, almost orange creamsicle-like, still one of the great easy sippers at MRSP.

It’s the sweet cornbread I always taste most, & it’s a delicious note. A truly essential bottle, the one to start the night off with.

The major notes of OF—the banana, the sweetness, the chocolate—are in this inexpensive bottle, which still really holds it own against most anything. Truly a classic value.

One of the most truly unique flavor profiles in whiskey, surprisingly affordable for all it delivers.
