Nose; strange wooded nose, almost a hint of varnish. Here comes that sherry barrel. Some vanilla as well. I get the wine barrel as well. Taste; The sweetness dominates at first. Reminds me of the Super Nikka as it hits the tongue. But it’s very different. Its sweet and smooth, and the oak balances the malt well. It flees of the tongue fairly quickly. The triple casking makes a confused flavour profile. It isn’t layered, it all just melds together. I don’t get any peat or smoke in here. It’s nice, I like it, but I think the asking price is steep for the quality of whiskey.78.0 USD per Bottle

Oban Bay Reserve (Game of Thrones-The Night's Watch)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 13, 2019Nose; smells almost golden, light, honey notes. The nose is soft. Touch of seaspray. Taste; Smooth and effortless. The barely floats across the mouth. The oak only just makes an appearance. The sugars are there, but small, a supporting role. Then again there are no main actors here, this is a balance of supporting roles. The finish is nice, if not a little non-descript, it seems to just linger on the tongue. -
Nose; vanilla and smoke lead in equal parts. Oaky too. Salty brine. A touch of old leather. But then some sweetness bleeds through. Almost floral, with dark fruits. Taste; wow that is a flavour sensation. It's surprisingly smooth for how much fire and flavour this has. The peat and char lead here. Finish is long and dry. Salt, oily, smokey, this is terrific stuff. Think seaside bonfire with charred fruits. 9.3/10

Nose; vanilla and oak. I get hints of creme brulee. Marzipan. Taste; smooth and silky. Low ABV. This is so mellow no particular flavours present themselves. It's a nice whiskey, so far from harsh. The antethesis of Bruichladdich Ardbeg. Mellow, smooth, sorta sweet, non-descript. The Camry of whiskey. Long dry spicy finish. 7.4/10
