On the nose, sweet caramel and vanilla. More aroma than I tend to find on Knob Creek 100. On the palette, it delivers the flavors you’d expect from the nose, with the addition of a slight chocolate note. During the finish, those same flavors continue and the chocolate becomes more dominant as the finish fades. Overall, decent flavor. Not something I’d choose as a go-to. However, it’s a flavorful medium-proof bourbon I’ll keep around for the rare-occasion mixed drink.

On the nose, wheaty and dusty corn. On the palette, classic caramel flavor with almost a chocolate note. Not very smooth, but the flavor is bold enough to match the proof. The finish reflects the nose more than it does the palette, but introduces nothing new. Overall, it’s my favorite Jim Beam product. A simple, straightforward, nothing-crazy 100 proof bourbon.

On the nose, lights fruits, predominantly green apple and citrus. Accompanied by a pine tartness. On the palette, there is a sweetness, but flavor is extremely light. Slightly oaky. Personally, I find very little flavor here. The finish fades quickly, and the limited flavors that were initially present quickly disappear. Overall, it is a light and friendly whiskey. I imagine a more finely-tuned connoisseur can discover the flavors here. For me, there’s not enough to justify devoting any more time or money towards this product.

Glen Moray Elgin Classic Port Cask Finish
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 10, 2020 (edited August 15, 2020)The nose seems to be dominated by the Port finish, which I personally enjoy. The port finish doesn’t seem to be as present on the pallet. There’s a mild dark chocolate note, which carries into the finish.
