Tastes

This is an excellent cask strength whisky, with powerful but well balanced smoke. Take it with a teaspoon of water to kill the alcohol kick and bring out the flavour.

This may not be the norm for Glenfiddich drinkers with the woody almost smoky tang, so it appears quite low on the list but I really liked that but of devil that the wood finish gives. I am an Islay fan though.

Sweet, easy to drink and a nice fruity feel. Not very complex with just an edge to it that stops it being a 5.

I have had three bottles of this excellent and currently my favourite Whisky 98/99/01. Like the 16 but with more sweetness. Out of the three I found that the 98 and 01 were slightly smoother than the 99 and as such were my favoured options.
