Tastes

7/10. Vanilla bomb. Very soft on the nose and the palate. Cherry wood taste up front, followed by tons of vanilla with a medium finish of oak and baking spices. Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Creamy mouthfeel, slight hints of black pepper.

5/10. Loch & Key 12 year store pick from M. Amato. Not strong, but nice nose of caramel and vanilla. Taste disappoints with mostly oak, tannin, and black pepper finish. Just not enough depth of flavor for me to fully enjoy

7/10. How is this a sub-$30 bottle? Excellent pour. Drinks more like a bourbon than a rye. Big oaky vanilla flavor with a small amount of heat. Smooth finish. Big Fan

7/10. Very unique pour. Harsh alcohol on the nose with hints of currant. Smooth, dry mouthfeel with a fruity body from the Port Finish. Slightly wine spice finish, with a taste of fresh dill. Syrah like. Great for a cool fall night on the patio.

7/10. Very Good. Spicy Cherry Cola for me all day. Both on the nose and the palate. Oily mouthfeel. Not sure if it is worth the hefty price tag, but it is a very tasty pour.

Lots of oak, obviously, but very mellow. Butter and butterscotch. Not a fan of the regular double oaked, but this was a pretty good pour.

Surprised at how much I liked this one. Soft nose of vanilla and slight banana notes. Very smooth brown sugar sip with a finish of sweet maple and hint of charcoal. Not real kick to it. Extremely mellow and very drinkable.

Sweet smell of Vanilla and Burnt Caramel. Lots of Vanilla up front, followed by an ethanol heat. Oily mouthfeel. Flat, short oaky finish. A little barrel char. This is a nice, good bourbon, but I feel it is overrated.
