Tastes

If you'd asked me a year ago if I liked scotch, I would have given you an emphatic no. I'd tried so many: Oban, Macallan, Glenmorangie, Chivas Regal... Then I was introduced to Johnnie Walker Blue and it all changed. I now look forward to trying new scotch brands in hopes that one surprises me (pleasantly) as much as this one did.

This is the bourbon that brought me into the world of whisk(e)y. A friend of mine loves scotch and kept offering me different varieties at each of his parties. I'd taste each one but didn't enjoy any enough to make a change from my go-to spirit at the time: vodka. As a last effort, he offered one last option: Col. E.H. Taylor. I sipped on it neat all night and whisk(e)y has been my go-to spirit ever since.

I fell in love with this bourbon 3 years ago when someone told me to choose the bottle with the horse on top. It has been a mainstay in my liquor cabinet ever since.
