Heaven Hill Bottled In Bond 7 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 12, 2021 (edited March 24, 2021)Nothing much on the nose, only alcohol and a little caramel. The color is light gold. This is definitely reminiscent of Heaven Hill 6 year green label, but more rich and you can definitely taste the extra proof points. Classic bourbon flavor, and some Heaven Hill nuttiness. There's sweetness here, but dark and rich like molasses. I can taste more of the barrel here too. The finish is medium length, with a touch of bitterness. This is was neck pour, so I'll definitely revisit this soon for a second helping.49.99 USD per Bottle -
Belle Meade Sour Mash Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed February 1, 2021 (edited August 2, 2022)This is a solid bourbon. It's got the right mix of sweet and spicy. It's easy to sip,yet it's got enough bite to make it interesting. It's sneakily good. My bottle has emptied quicker than I realized. I keep reaching for this when I want a nice sip, but don't want to break out the good stuff. Turns out this kind of is the good stuff.37.99 USD per Bottle -
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 30, 2021 (edited February 7, 2021)Not much on the nose, just a slight scent of maple syrup. On the palate this one is sweet and very smooth. Maple syrup, Toasted oats, and a slight taste of Andes mint chocolate. The oak here is very subtle. Not much complexity, and no real spice or heat. The finish is short and sweet. This bottle isn't quite as sweet and doesn't have the floral oak profile that Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel does. This is a very nice, easy drinking bourbon, though I wish it had a little more spice.54.99 USD per Bottle
