Tastes

This is a solid three. So much damn banana! It's the artificial laffy taffy banana, but it's not bad. After a couple pours this is just fine for sipping.

Smoke wagon isn't available here in Alabama, but I lucked into a couple bottles just across the state line in GA. I didn't pick up much on the nose other than alcohol and maybe a bit of burnt brown sugar. It tastes young, but it's not bad. It's got some sweetness, little vanilla, little caramel, and some smokiness. It's smooth for it's age and has a short finish. It's got a bit of a bite, some from it's youth and some from the spice. There's not much complexity here, but it's a nice sip. It's quite nice for the price, if you can find it. Hope to try the unfiltered and uncut version next.

I get some cherry and banana on the nose. Very similar on the palate. I get a fruity sweetness. I also get some peanut. A little oak and leather on the finish. Much like 1792 small batch, the bib version seems to improve the further into the bottle I get. I'll be sipping this one some more, you know, for science.
