Solid, but nothing special. I doubt most scotch lovers would dislike this. It doesn't bring anything unique to the table. I would have hoped for the climate of the region to make it a bit different, but it just doesn't.

Trini on steriods (a little different with casks, so not apples to apples). Top 3 budget (under 100) single malt for me this year.

I definitely like the dripping bramble of the 18 better (the virgin oak is noticeable here without being overly dominant), but is it worth the extra $50? I think it is, but i feel most won't. This is very good, especially for the price. It gives you similar to better quality as plenty of other 15 year options that are $20-40 more.
