Corsair Triple Smoke American Single Malt
American Single Malt — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed July 8, 2016Closer to a 4.25. With a bit higher proof, true greatness would have been achieved. As it stands, it's an excellent whiskey with a compelling flavor profile. Check it out! -
George Dickel No. 12
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 24, 2016 (edited May 11, 2020)One of the better kept secrets in American whisky. Toffee, butter, caramel, a little coffee, corn and oak. It's probably the buttery taste and buttery mouth feel that keeps me wanting more. A great daily pour of classic Tennessee whisky. Most of us native Tennesseans know who the best distiller is - and it ain't the folks in Lynchburg. We call George Dickel 'The Doctor' for a reason. Bought my last handle of GD 12 in the Nashville area for about $31 in May 2016. Fantastic, delicious value. -
Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 24, 2016 (edited February 17, 2018)Great bourbon. Full flavored, not terribly complex - yet satisfying all the same. Rich caramel, vanilla, butter/butterscotch, oak and just a tad bit of spice - but just right. A great value bourbon if you can find a handle in the sub-$40 range. I've been a fan of the 86 proof OF for 35 years. The Signature is significantly better. I hear from a Brown-Forman peep that there's some OF B'day Bourbon juice in every Signature batch. Interesting, if true.
