Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse Select
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 5, 2020 (edited September 22, 2021)Nose is a lot of ethanol a little oak and the faintest of vanillas if I really search for it. Palate is a lot more palatable than the nose lets on flood of oak and a touch of vanilla. Finish is where this pour shines medium length brown sugar honey and vanilla still hanging out in the background. Great drink classic bourbon profile. My score- 3 Scale 1-choke it down or pour it down the sink 2-drinkable but would not buy again 3-solid would buy again 4-seek it want it need it in my cabinet 5- life changing might name a kid after it -
Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 4, 2020 (edited April 24, 2020)Great scotch made better by aging in rum barrels. Nose is sugar cane and sweetness. Palate taste the brightness of good clean scotch with a candied dried plum and just a hint of black licorice. Finish the rum shows for a short while. Score-3.5 Scale 1-choke it down or pour it down the sink 2-drinkable but would not buy again 3-solid would buy again 4-seek it want it need it in my cabinet 5- life changing might name a kid after it90.0 USD per BottleHampton -
Peat and peach’s is what I got out of the nose. Palate gets better with every sip salty smokey peat that leads to a velvet malt. Finish is smoke and brine lasts long enough and will give more the a few exhales of good Islay scotch flavor post swallow. My rating 4 Scale 1-choke it down or pour it down the sink 2-drinkable but would not buy again 3-solid would buy again 4-seek it want it need it in my cabinet 5- life changing might name a kid after it80.0 USD per BottleHampton
