A classic pour and even better at SRP!

Spicy, nutty, hints of vanilla. This bottle was aged 7 years, 10 mos. Solid pickup since it’s back on the shelves in VA. I am glad I got it but would probably buy something else similarly priced next time.

This stuff has really grown on me. I wasnt overly impressed after my first tasting but quickly grew to appreciate the toast. Its unlike anything I have had but love anything Penelope I can get my hands on. With MPG buying the brand, I hope to eventually see it on shelves in VA.

A little heat and a lot of banana on the nose. The palate is like a banana bomb followed by subtle caramel and vanilla. The high proof coats the mouth but, overall, a very interesting and impressive pour. A 30th birthday gift and my first experience with JDSB!

Dark fruits and baking spices on the nose. A little vanilla and a little heat. The palate is pleasant and smooth for 120 proof and the finish is medium and coats the top of your mouth. A solid pick up for the price. I am not sure I have seen on the shelf in Virginia before.

Most of the bourbons Ive been drinking have strong vanilla or caramel notes (or at least as far as my unrefined palate can tell). This one is delightfully sweet but in a different way. It’s smooth and approachable and finishes easily but hangs around just long enough. Glad I finally pulled the trigger and grabbed a bottle.

12 year. Doesnt taste like 124 proof but so so good.
