Corazón Blanco Tequila
Distiller Score 90
Very fruity aroma of ripe pears and sweet apples are found. Light in body with a creamy mouthfeel, there are distinct notes of white pepper. Good for sipping but perfect for a Paloma, or try dropping a shot over ice with your favorite radler of shandy.

Don Pilar Reposado Tequila
Distiller Score 94
A rich, ultra-smooth expression with subtle spices that come to life on the tongue. Tart orange, lemon, and lime give way to roasted coffee, cocoa, and vanilla. Goes down very easily.

Herencia Mexicana Añejo Tequila
Distiller Score 91
This tequila presents a rich and dense character that is evident from the moment you smell it. A culmination of milk chocolate or perhaps Tootsie Roll, allspice, bananas foster, caramel, butterscotch and brown butter. The flavor is sweet and lush, but surprisingly bright and gentle with cinnamon toast, clove, charcoal and a hint of lemon zest. All the markers of a Highland tequila graciously taking on the characteristics of intense wood aging.

Calle 23 Tequila Añejo
Distiller Score 85
This is one of those dessert-like añejos. It's super creamy, chocolatey and rich. It's almost like drinking a caramel flan in chocolate sauce that's been sprinkled with a hit of freshly grated cinnamon. There is still some agave fruit shining through, though it's more of a baked, roasty flavor than the younger expressions. If you like a sweet añejo, this is for you.

Gran Centenario Plata Tequila
Distiller Score 95
For a young tequila this has the weight and depth of something more mature. It's very fruity, with flavors of yellow peach, mangos, grapefruit peel and yellow bell peppers tinged with vanilla. It also has a pleasant spicy kick of black pepper, nutmeg and a faint whiff of smoke. This is a truly elegant sipping tequila.

Tequila Orgullo Pueblo Viejo Añejo
Distiller Score 93
This is a fine dessert tequila with rich flavors that manage to compliment the inherent agave notes instead of smothering them in sweetness. Warm cinnamon, dulce de leche, vanilla and milk chocolate fold into surprisingly fresh and tart green apple and pear. More savory notes of stewed agave, chili pepper and roasted bell pepper appear toward the finish as in a good molé, cutting the richness and adding depth.

Mucha Liga Bravo Blanco Tequila
Distiller Score 88
Bravo has a tough, brawny exterior, but his tequila exhibits a soft, cuddly quality. Aromas and flavors of orange blossom and pastry-spice mix with creamy vanilla and a solid, mineral backbone for balance. Agave flavors are quite mellow and rich for a blanco, which goes down dangerously smooth. Perhaps the lucha libre move here is slow and deliberate, as it would be quite easy to sip too much of this.

Tequila 1921 Añejo
Distiller Score 90
This very fruity agave tastes predominantly of vanilla, caramel and butterscotch with Christmas spices. Some lime zest, ginger and that telltale stewed agave flavor come in toward the finish. This is a very clean, sweet and easy to drink añejo that is best enjoyed neat in a good Cognac glass.

Teremana Tequila Añejo
Distiller Score 88
The nose and palate are like a liquid chocolate orange, with dominant tangerine and satsuma notes along with milk chocolate. The palate is rich and toffee-like, but the roasted agave notes do shine through toward the back palate and with citrus peel and more chocolate in the finish.

Siembra Azul 10th Anniversary Reposado Tequila
Distiller Score 95
While it's quite rich for a reposado, the oak influence does not completely detract from the natural agave flavors. Exotic spices are at the forefront with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, cocoa powder and allspice. Vanilla, caramel and fruity flavors of apricot, grapefruit peel, and lime give over to mineral richness and fresh agave notes. All-in-all a chewy, yet nuanced tequila that's a real treat to sip.

Tequila Ocho Plata "Los Fresnos" 2013
Distiller Score 85
This expression has a much higher salinity in both aroma and palate which had me thinking of the ocean. It’s not quite like licking a salt block, but close. There’s a greater cooked agave taste than their “Las Pomez” Plata bottling along with a bit of sweet baking dough. The palate briefly shows black pepper and has a nice burn like you get with capsaicin. Slight cacao is found on the finish. I personally prefer this Plata over the “Las Pomez” Plata as this is more assertive and not as sweet.

Tequila Gran Dovejo Reposado
Distiller Score 93
A delightful bouquet with cinnamon, roasted agave, white pepper, mango and roasted pineapple lead into similar flavors on the palate. This is a very complex tequila, with pineapple, mango and papaya fruit complementing the agave, pepper and cinnamon notes. A hint of caramel flan and oak make an appearance midway through, before a medium finish of cinnamon, baking spice, and toasted oak ends things.
