Reviewed November 24, 2024 (edited December 16, 2024)Bertelli's Liquor Mart Single Barrel Select Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium-dark amber. Nose: Big fruity notes - apple, raisin, and prune. Palate: Baking spice and clove. Finish: Medium lengh with medium heat. Splash: No new flavors are revealed. Overall: 8/10 - This is above average bourbon, and a heavy hitter for the price point. It just doesn't have much in the way of character, but it's priced about right. Would probably stand up to ice or a cocktail better than most under $50.45.0 USD per BottleBertelli's Liquor Mart -

Reviewed June 17, 2024 (edited October 30, 2024)Liquor City Uncorked pick, "Gallenstein Selection #14" Barrel No. 421 Open 2 months Nose - Creme brulee, toasted marshmallow, milk chocolate, black cherry, allspice, rich oak, and medium ethanol. Palate - Chocolate covered cherries, orange bitters, custard, caramel, sweet tobacco, and cinnamon cream. Finish is medium-long with rich vanilla glazed churros, sweet oak, white pepper, orange oil, and medium ethanol. These continue to be one of the best value high proof bourbons on the market, full stop. What's legitimately surprising is there is a scarcity of many sought-after bourbons in Kentucky due to tourism, but these 1792 Full Proof picks are actually pretty easy to find. I don't get it. These have a similar profile to what people chase with Buffalo Trace products, but are cheaper and easier to find. You'll never see them more than $70 at any private store, and typically they're under $60. And people actually chase the subjectively much worse 1792 products like Sweet Wheat, BiB, 12 Year, and Single Barrel. Honestly, I think I've seen more Full Proof bottles in the last 2 years than those other 4 combined. If you see a pick, I highly recommend picking one up. It'll compete with Elijah Craig, Old Forester, or Jack Daniel's picks.52.98 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed May 20, 2024Total Wine Pick. Rich bourbon. Lots of caramel, with cherry, brown sugar, pecan, honey, sweet bread, ethanol. Spice and cinnamon. Full proof is noticeable in the heat, but balance is present. This was delicious and was a good value.
